This week the optional theme is the Key of C with a secondary optional theme of 120 BPM.
Greetings everyone. It's just midnight on Friday morning here on the east coast and with that it's time for an ImprovFriday event. I was thinking about a theme as an option, thought of 'white' for some reason in a sense of light or snow or the brightest of the color prism. Should that set something […]
Wow times like these as the song has said. I have not hosted in a while, have been caught up in training for a fall charity biking event but that said the news this week from the present darkness in the politcal air of North America needs some positive light to wash it away. Sending this […]
The song that was the best ever, but didn't get recorded, is going to be recorded and posted. Sound In, this time, is themed around the book "The Old Man and the Sea" and its timeless idea applied to music or song or just the newest sound that "got away" from getting recorded. It's the […]
It's ImprovFriday time folks, so let the light of inspiration shine and the sound of inspiration resonate!
Hi all! Wow, didn't we just end the last Sound-In event?… But Thursday's here and our sonic duty calls. The theme this week is — NO THEME. Have at it, and REMEMBER: these sounds are dangerous and must only be used around a supervising adult! Don't want anybody losing any fingers…

This year is especially important as US citizens and their healthcare, education, etc., are being attacked by a rogue POTUS regime. Celebrate the resistance and happy music making!! – JC
Welcome to the first Sound-In event of Summer – and this is the theme. Summer was the theme of the oldest known English song – from about 1250. Create anything related to summer, the solstice – whatever. Of course other pieces are always welcome. So let's make new music!
Welcome to an ImprovFriday for June the 16th. An optional theme would be in the spirit of Bill Newbold's fine watercolor work here to the right. So a theme of 'watercolor' or 'water color' in whatever way you might weave those words or as always just spontaneous music of the last few days or now in […]
As some of you know I've been working writing music to poetry lately and it's been a great new direction to try. Poetry has much in common with new music and musicians in my opinion especially from a socio-political viewpoint. I hope you can experiment with poetry as inspiration and/or as material. Best, Jeff Fairbanks
